Juniors Lacrosse at Penarth:
Players can begin as juniors aged seven onwards. There are many schools, colleges and universities in Wales where lacrosse is being played and the National competition for schools is always popular. It is anticipated that 2008 will see a National league being launched in Wales providing even more opportunity for this great game to be played.
Lacrosse is an inclusive game for boys, girls, men and women. A number of successful lacrosse players have made the transition from other sports. So whether you are an existing athletic type who would like to try a different sport or are a junior or beginner there is a place for you at Penarth Lacrosse Club.
The other good news is that you will not need to pay for any expensive equipment as the Club provides all that is necessary. This has been achieved through fundraising and assistance from the Sports Council of Wales.
If any commercial organisations would like the opportunity to assist our local young people engage in lacrosse through a sponsorship deal, which will be mutually beneficial please contact Secretary.
We are pleased to anounce that our development plan to increase the number of players in wales has started and is proving very sucessful. Penarth is working with the Welsh Lacrosse Association, The Vale of Glamorgan Council, Sports Wales and all of the Primary and secondary schools in the Vale of Glamorgan. We are coaching around 100 young people a week and have the capacity to coach more.
We would welcome more players into the club on a wedneasday evenning. Come and give it a go!
